The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has named advocate Amit Palekar as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming assembly polls in Goa. .Delhi Chief Minister (CM) and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced the same at a press briefing in Panaji on Wednesday. The party will contest from all constituencies in the State, Kejriwal added.Palekar will be contesting from the St Cruz constituency, and represents an OBC community that is 35 per cent of the State but has had only one CM till date.Kejriwal said the party has picked an honest man known for welfare work as the face of its election campaign in Goa. .Palekar, also a social worker, joined AAP in October last year.He specialises in Intellectual Property Law, and is a visiting faculty at the VMS College of Law. Palekar is noted to have helped during the Oxygen crisis at the peak of the second wave of the COVID pandemic.
