Supreme Court imposes ₹50k costs on petitioners who challenged ban on 15-year-old petrol, 10-year-old diesel vehicles
A bench of Justices L Nageswara Rao, AS Bopanna and BR Gavai said that the public interest litigation was frivolous and amounted to an abuse of process of law.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday imposed costs of ₹50,000 on two petitioners who moved the Court challenging the ban in Delhi on diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years [Anurag Saxena and Anr. v. Union of India].
