Former Chief Justice of India (CJI), P Sathasivam will succeed Sheila Dikshit as the Governor of Kerala, reports The Hindu..The report states that the warrant of appointment by the President Pranab Mukherjee is expected on Saturday night. He was elevated to the Supreme Court in 2007 and became the CJI in July, 2013 before retiring in April, 2014..He is best known for his landmark judgment in the case of Shatrughan Chauhan in which it was held that delay by the President in deciding mercy plea is a ground for commuting the death sentence of convicts to life imprisonment.
