Former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Anurag Thakur, has filed an application before the Supreme Court, praying that the Supreme Court Order dated January 2, 2017, be recalled..Thakur and BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke were removed from their posts by the January 2 Order, for not implementing recommendations of the Justice RM Lodha Committee..The Court in their observations came down especially hard on Thakur, saying that minutes of a BCCI meeting held to discuss the implementation of the Committee’s recommendations, had been “fabricated to lend credence” to his side of the story..It was also observed that Thakur obstructed and impeded the implementation of the recommendations..In his application, the Harimpur Lok Sabha MP stated that the remarks made against him had caused him public embarrassment and personal anguish. He added that the remarks had been made without hearing him either in person or through a counsel..Thakur has also sought to be impleaded as a party in the Cricket Association of Bihar vs BCCI case, which led to the formation of the Lodha Committee and the implementation of its recommendations..Orders are yet to be pronounced on some aspects of the case..Read the Application
