Former Allahabad High Court judge moves Supreme Court seeking one rank one pension for retired service quota judges

Justice Singh, who was appointed to the High Court from the Uttar Pradesh Higher Judiciary in 2018, currently gets a pension of ₹15,005 per month after retiring as a High Court judge on March 29, 2023.

The Supreme Court recently sought the response of the Allahabad High Court and the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments on a plea seeking one rank one pension for retired service quota judges, i.e. High Court judges who were appointed from the district judiciary and not the bar [Justice Ajit Singh (Retd.) vs Union of India and ors].
