The Supreme Court today put its foot down in the case relating to entry of foreign law firms and refused to adjourn the matter..A Bench of Justices AK Goel and UU Lalit refused to accede to the request made by the Counsel to adjourn the case remarking,.“It has been adjourned many times. It won’t help anyone. This is not the right approach”..Senior Advocate CU Singh and Guru Krishnakumar had requested that the matter be adjourned. While Singh prayed that the matter be posted on next Tuesday, Krishnakumar had sought for a hearing tomorrow..The Bench, however, did not budge and posted the matter for hearing at 2 pm today..In October, the same bench of Justices AK Goel and UU Lalit had heard an application by the central government for early listing of the matter, and had decided to post it for January next year..Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh, appearing for the central government, had told the Court that the Centre is inclined to frame Rules in relation to opening up of the legal market and allowing entry of foreign law firms..The matter will now be taken up at 2pm today.
