A fifth Constitution Bench has been set up by the Supreme Court of India to hear six cases..This bench comprises Justices KM Joseph, Ajay Rastogi, Aniruddha Bose, Hrishikesh Roy and CT Ravikumar. .This bench will hear the following matters:- WhatsApp’s privacy policy and its users' right to privacy under Article 21 [Karmanya Singh Sareen v. Union of India]; - Plea seeking a more foolproof system for the appointment of members of the Election Commission [Anoop Baranwal v. Union of India];- Plea on whether bull taming sport, Jallikattu can be allowed to practised as cultural right. The plea has challenged The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Act, 2017 passed by the State of Tamil Nadu to allow Jallikattu [Animal Welfare Board of India v. Union of India];- Questions surrounding Euthanasia [Common Cause v. Union of India];- Case on validity of arbitration agreement embedded in an unstamped contract [Global Mercantile Private Ltd. v.M/s Indo Unique Flame Limited];- Issues relating to adultery [Joseph Shine v. Union of India];.Four Constitution benches are already sitting in Supreme Court. With the fifth Constitution Bench, 25 of the 29 judges in top court will be part of Constitution Benches.
