DNA test to clear suspicions on child's paternity can only be ordered in exceptional cases: Kerala High Court
Only when the court finds it impossible to draw an inference based on evidence or if the controversy cannot be resolved without a DNA test, can the court direct a DNA test and not otherwise, the High Court said.
The Kerala High Court recently emphasised that courts should not direct DNA tests to determine the paternity of a child in every case where the paternity is disputed [Sujith Kumar S v Vinaya VS & Anr.].
