The Delhi High Court has launched a free Wi-Fi facility on its premises for lawyers and the public..Phase I of the free Wi-Fi facility was launched on Wednesday by Delhi High Court Acting Chief Justice Manmohan in the presence of Justice Rajiv Shakdher and many other judges.Speaking at the event, Acting Chief Justice Manmohan said that because the administration of Delhi High Court is handled by judges and not government officials, it is at the forefront of the reforms.“We must thank our predecessors for it. It takes a huge toll on each and every judge. But this is small price we pay to ensure that this court stays ahead of the curve. I think the Bar must realise this and appreciate what the judges of this court do even after court hours,” Justice Manmohan said.He added that the reforms in the Delhi High Court will continue and that some more new facilities will be inaugurated upon the re-opening of the Court after the summer vacations..In Phase-I, the free Wi-FI facility will be available at A Block, B Block, C Block, Extension Block, the Mediation Centre, and the Lawyers’ Cafeteria. “Advocates/litigants/visitors can connect to the Wi-Fi network using their mobile devices, laptops, or tablets. The Wi-Fi network is designed to handle a high volume of users, ensuring reliable and fast internet access. Robust security measures have been implemented to protect users’ data and ensure a safe browsing experience,” the High Court stated in a communication..The new website of the Delhi High Court was also launched today.“The new website has been designed with responsive web design feature, and, therefore, it will automatically adjust for different screen sizes and will look good and function smoothly on all devices like desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones etc.," it was informed. The new website will offer facilities for advocates and litigants in a dedicated grid. “The applications like e-Filing, e-RTI, e-Sewa Kendra & Accessibility Helpline, Online Gate Pass System, Registration of Creche facility, etc. are in-built in the website and the users are not re-directed to the separate URLs. The new website also hosts several new features like e-True Copy Application, Virtual Tour, more information on Current and Former Hon’ble Judges, etc. A new feature Landmark Judgments of Delhi High Court will also be included in near future.”.The event today further saw the launch of a mechanism for “e-True Copy Application of Delhi High Court” and “Virtual Tour of Delhi High Court – Phase-I.".The initiatives were conceptualized by Justice Rajiv Shakdher who is the Chairman of the Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Accessibility Committee of the High Court, and was guided by Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva. Justices Sanjeev Narula, Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Swarana Kanta Sharma and Girish Kathpalia are also members of the Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Accessibility Committee.
