Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Monday launched the e-DHCR, a new portal for reportable judgments of the Delhi High Court..The e-DHCR portal will serve as the official law report of the Delhi High Court judgments. It contains more than 2,000 judgments rendered by the Delhi High Court from the year 2007 to May 2024.Speaking at the event, Delhi High Court Acting Chief Justice (ACJ) Manmohan said that e-DHCR portal will provide free accessibility of Delhi High Court judgements along-with a ready reckoner to lawyers, litigants, law students, legal enthusiasts and wider public.“We have implemented an AI-powered advanced search algorithm to improve search accuracy and provide personalized recommendations based on user interactions. This will help users navigate through legal information more efficiently and accurately. Additionally, the e-DHCR portal offers multiple search options and filters, making it easier for users to find relevant information. We have also included features such as highlighting of searched words, voice search and graphs,” ACJ Manmohan highlighted.He added that the platform promotes inclusivity by providing features like screen readers, high-contrast options and keyboard navigation..Meanwhile, CJI Chandrachud stressed that the initiative will benefit the legal community in embracing the technology for a better future, promote accessibility and sustainability, and strengthen legal research capabilities.“As technology advances, the legal system must evolve accordingly. Lawyers and litigants relying on electronic tools cannot be asked to revert to outdated paper systems. The march of technology is unstoppable, and our courts must embrace these changes to enhance accessibility and efficiency. Each technological advancement, including the E-DHCR portal, plays a crucial role in building a more accessible and efficient justice system. I urge each one of you to continue to support and advocate for these transformative changes to ensure that justice remains within reach for everyone,” the CJI said.The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Justice Yashwant Varma, the chairperson of the e-DHCR Committee.
