The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued notice in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking action against persons pasting printouts of the word 'Judge' on their vehicles..A Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla issued notice to the Registrar General of the High Court and the Principal Judge of the Tis Hazari Courts, directing them to file responses within four weeks. The judges have asked the respondents to specifically respond to the instances of people using such stickers which the petitioner had enumerated in his PIL, and to take remedial steps..The PIL filed by Advocate Sanser Pal Singh contended that he has seen many vehicles which are using these printouts as well as 'Judge' parking stickers on their vehicles even though they do not belong to the judicial services. This, the petition said, is in violation of the guidelines and circulars issued by courts. Singh submitted that the use of these printouts is also a security threat because such vehicles are not stopped at court gates for checking. The petitioner claimed that he had written complaints to the Supreme Court, the Delhi High Court and even the Principal District Judge, Tis Hazari Courts, but no action has been taken on the said complaints as yet.Apart from seeking action against those using such printouts/ tickers and parking stickers, the plea also prayed for directions so that guidelines can be formulated and legal action be taken against such people.
