Delhi High Court grants Central, NCT governments last chance to respond to PIL for recording depositions before Delhi courts in Hindi

The petitioner organisation, Social Action Forum for Manav Adhikar, claimed that testimonies in cases are recorded in English, denying justice to victims who have no idea of what has been recorded.

The Delhi High Court on Friday granted the Central and Delhi governments one last opportunity to respond to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to declare Hindi as the language for recording of depositions by criminal courts in the capital [Social Action Forum for Manav Adhikar (SAFMA) v Govt of NCT of Delhi & Ors].
