The Delhi High Court on Monday granted bail to businessman Sameer Mahandru and another accused Chanpreet Singh in the money laundering case connected to the now scrapped Delhi excise policy of 2021-22. .Justice Neena Bansal Krishna passed the order.Detailed judgement is awaited. .Mahandru, owner of IndoSpirit, had moved the High Court seeking bail on the ground of delay. His plea was rejected by the trial court in February 2024. This was his second bail plea.According to prosecution, Mahandru was one of the major beneficiaries of the excise policy. He was not only running an alcoholic beverages manufacturing unit but also given a wholesale licence and some retail licences in the name of his relatives.Chanpreet Singh is accused of managing cash payments for the Aam Aadmi Party's 2022 Goa election campaign.
