It will be business as usual in the Delhi High Court tomorrow with the Delhi High Court Bar Association calling off the strike that has been going on from July 22..In a meeting held today, the Executive Committee of the DHCBA decided to call off the strike citing the reason that “the logjam in Parliament” had ensured the Delhi High Court (Amendment) Bill may not be taken up for debate anytime soon. Therefore, the call for “abstention from work” was suspended and the EC has decided that it will “keep a constant check on the situation [in Parliament over the Bill]” and take a call, accordingly..The strike which went on from July 22-27 saw crippling of the day-to-day affairs of the High Court and many important matters continued to be adjourned by the Benches. However there were some noticeable exceptions when the Division Bench headed by Justice BD Ahmed sat through the weekend to pronounce their verdict on account of the urgency warranted in the Red FM Auctions dispute. There was also a fair share of drama involved when two factions within the Bar indulged in Bar politics..With the Court back to business, litigants who had been facing a harrowing time due to the multiple adjournments, can heave a sigh of relief.
