The Delhi High Court today issued show cause notice to Facebook, Google and Yahoo in a plea to ban the deadly challenge-based game Blue Whale..The internet companies will have to apprise the Court on the steps that the companies have taken to pull down the links of Blue Whale challenge and to curb the menace of the game..The plea, filed by Advocate Gurmeet Singh, was first heard on August 17 by the Bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar..Sanjay Ghosh, appearing for the Delhi Police today, stated that it is very difficult to control the material connected to the deadly challenge as the messages are circulated through innocuous means like Whatsapp chats directly to the person who wants to engage..Representing the Central Government, ASG Sanjay Jain stated that if the game can be accessed through a link, that link can uploaded anywhere. The only solution is to mask it..The Bench today reiterated its earlier observation that not only children and adolescents but even adults are falling prey to this game.
