The Delhi High Court recently passed an interim injunction in favor of Eicher Motors Ltd that manufactures the “Royal Enfield” brand of motorcycles..As reported by Times of India, a Single Bench of Justice Manmohan Singh restrained two persons from marketing/selling on online shopping site eBay, products bearing the name ‘Royal Enfield’, ‘Bullet’ or any other name used by Eicher Motors for manufacturing their signature line of motorbikes..The Bench held that Eicher had fulfilled all the necessary conditions to render itself favorable for grant of temporary injunction. The company had moved the High Court against persons who were selling biking gears and other similar products using trademarks owned by it..After passing an order that effectively restrains the parties from usage of Eicher’s trademarks, the Bench adjourned the matter to November 27.
