A Delhi Court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to the Principal of Mother Khazani Convent School, who is alleged to have been involved in the CBSE paper leak scandal..Two teachers of Mother Khazani Convent School, which was one of the centers where the board examinations were conducted, have already been arrested by the police..Appearing for Principal Praveen Kumar Dagar, Advocate Harsh K Sharma submitted that the applicant had been falsely implicated in this case..It was argued that that the applicant received the question papers at about 9.05 a.m. through Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) personnel and within 10 minutes, the photographs of the unbroken sealed packets of the question papers were taken, and the same were submitted to the CBSE..It was further argued that the question paper, which is alleged to have been leaked by the applicant, had already been leaked by another accused..Additional Public Prosecutor Maqsood Ahmad opposed the bail application, arguing that the Principal had custody of the question papers. It was alleged that the Principal, in connivance with three other persons, opened the packet containing the question papers prior to the scheduled time and provided the same to two other co-accused, who further circulated the papers on WhatsApp..Special Judge at Karkardooma District Court Ajay Gupta noted that the applicant had already joined the investigation and that no recovery was required to be effected from the applicant..“Keeping in view the facts and circumstance of the case and since the coaccused have already been granted bail as also the fact that applicant has already joined the investigation, it is directed that in the event of arrest, applicant shall be released on bail on his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of Rs.30,000/.”.The court directed that the applicant shall join the investigation as and when directed by the Investigation Officer and shall not hamper the investigation or tamper with the evidence.
