A Delhi court on Tuesday took congnisance of the Enforcement Directorate's prosecution complaint (chargesheet) making Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused in the Delhi excise policy case. .Special Judge (PC Act) Kaveri Baweja issued production warrants for Kejriwal ordering him to appear before the court on July 12. .The ED had filed the eighth chargesheet in the case on May 17 naming AAP and Kejriwal as accused. .Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21. He was granted bail by the trial court but the order has been stayed by the High Court. Just days later, he was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The AAP National Convenor is currently in judicial custody in both the CBI and ED cases. .The ED’s money laundering probe stems from a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2022 on a complaint made by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.It has been alleged that a criminal conspiracy was hatched by AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and others to create loopholes in the Delhi Excise Policy of 2021-22 to favour some liquor sellers.
