In a 225-page judgment, the Bombay High Court has struck down some of the provisions amending the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act of 1976. In essence, the High Court has held that although the ban on slaughter continues, possession of meat from animals slaughtered outside the state is perfectly legal.
