Senior Advocate Dammalapati Srinivas has been appointed Advocate General for the State of Andhra Pradesh, The Hindu reports..The State's Secretary of Legal and Legislative Affairs and Justice reportedly issued a notification on June 19, appointing Srinivas as the top law officer.He succeeds S Sriram, who resigned earlier this month..Srinivas did his law from VDS Law College in Vijayawada and registered as a member of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh. He worked as a junior with NV Ramana, who went on to serve as Chief Justice of India, before working under Senior Advocate SR Ashok. He previously served as Advocate General from 2014 to 2019, during the tenure of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government.In 2021, the Andhra Pradesh High Court had quashed a case filed against Srinivas in connection with the Amaravati land scam.
