A fundraising initiative is being undertaken to procure and distribute 100+ Oxygen concentrators in the National Capital Region (NCR) to aid those afflicted by COVID-19. .To this end, Vaibhav Kakkar, a partner with L&L Partners and Karan Chandhiok, partner with Chandhiok & Mahajan with the help of CV Narayan Rao, Hyderabad has tied up with the Meddo Foundation to ensure that oxygen concentrators are deployed on the ground in public hospitals, makeshift health facilities, and civil society groups..The initiative aims to aid in the procurement and distribution of 100+ Oxygen concentrators. The campaign organizers explain:."Scaling up of oxygen production capacity cannot be done overnight. Oxygen concentrators can be used in the place of oxygen cylinders to supply assistance to patients with mild to moderate respiratory distress. This could leave the oxygen cylinder supplies free to be used by patients with more severe respiratory distress, thereby saving more lives. One low-flow concentrator (with a flow of fewer than 5 litres per minute (LPM)) can treat and save the lives of up to 900 patients with mild to moderate illness. 100+ concentrators can potentially save over 90,000 lives!".The organisers have also stated that they are in touch with a credible supplier and that they have an opportunity to ensure that the concentrators are brought in and put into use by this weekend..To contribute to the initiative, click here to visit the fundraiser page.
