Indigo General Counsel Priya Mehra is joining Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's Akasa Air as a General Counsel at the end of this month, according to sources..Sources reveal that Mehra will serve as Chief Legal Officer and also look at compliances and other related matters..Mehra resigned from Indigo in August this year, after joining in December 2016. Prior to that, she was working with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Singapore. She was part of the firm’s India team led by Jai Pathak, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Singapore office and the Pacific Asia region.Before joining Gibson in 2008, she was working with Jones Day in Singapore, a position she took up in 2007 after five years at AZB & Partners.Mehra is a graduate of Delhi University. She is dual qualified to practice in India and England & Wales, and has an extensive background working in Indian markets.
