The Allahabad High Court and courts subordinate to it across the state of Uttar Pradesh will remain closed till further orders in the wake of the 21-day lockdown to combat the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). .The notice issued yesterday, however, clarifies that urgent cases would still be take up by the designated Bench with the prior approval. The notice states, ."As resolved by the administrative committee (telephonically), in supersession of all administrative notifications, circular etc, issued earlier, the Court work in the Allahabad High Court shall remain suspended with immediate effect till further orders. However, imminently emergent and urgent cases would be heard by the designated Bench/single Judge with prior approval of the Chief Justice. For Lucknow Bench, necessary approval for hearing of urgent cases shall be obtained from Hon'ble Senior Judge, Lucknow."Allahabad High Court notification.Regarding mentioning of urgent cases during this period, another notice issued has directed that such mention be made to the following IDs: -urgentlisting_allahabad@allahabadhighcourt.in for matters at the Principal Bench;urgentlisting_lucknow@allahabadhighcourt.in for Lucknow Bench matters. .Notably, the notice has emphasised that mentioning of such cases on the personal phone numbers of the Registrar (Judicial) (Listing) or Joint Registrar will not to be entertained.
