Adding to the expanding list of Bar Associations facilitating aid for lawyers during the Coronavirus lockdown, the Advocates Association of Bangalore (AAB) has asked members of the Bar to extend financial assistance to needy young lawyers..The resolution passed by the AAB states,."The COVID-19 pandemic has caused catastrophic damage to the society as a whole and India has been no exception. For the first time in history, the Courts are totally shut and the younger members of the Bar are finding it very hard to go on with their day to day life. As a responsible Association, we owe a duty to protect and safeguard the interest of our young members. The Advocates Association has in order to mitigate the difficulties and help the young lawyers in overcoming these difficult times, has resolved to extend financial help to the really needy young lawyers."AAB circular.In addition to the above, the AAB has requested all its members to contribute generously to this cause. The bank details for making contributions is provided below:.The circular further mentions that the beneficiaries of the fund will be identified in the following manner: .1. Members having 0-5 years standing as advocates and who are 30 years of age and below. 2. Members in dire need of funds to meet exceptional hardships.3. Preference will be given to members who are not employed or not working in any law chambers or lawyers' office. 4. Advocates are requested to send the details on or before April 16. .Further, the following details are to be included in the applications:.In order to scrutinize the applications and identify the beneficiaries, AAB has formulated a four-member committee comprising Senior Advocates DLN Rao and AS Ponnanna, and Advocates NS Sathyanarayana Gupta and K Divakar..The committee shall select the deserving advocates for financial assistance after verifying the details provided in their applications.
