The Supreme Court today ordered that no FIR should be registered or criminal complaint be entertained against Bollywood actor Salman Khan in relation to allegations pertaining to the movie LoveYatri..The order was passed by a Bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud in a petition filed by Salman Khan whose production company has made the move LoveYatri..The movie was earlier titled ‘Loveratri’ and right-wing groups had taken objection to the same as it rhymed with the festival Navratri..FIRs were also registered against Salman Khan in Bihar and Gujarat under Sections 295, 198, 153, 153(B) and 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code based on complaints by various private persons..This prompted Khan to approach the Supreme Court..The matter was mentioned today by advocate Nizam Pasha before the Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra who agreed to list the matter today..When the matter was taken up, the Court noted the submissions of Pasha that the film has been certified by the Central Board of Fim Certification..The Court, therefore, ordered that no coercive action should be taken against Salman Khan relating to the film.
