In the latest list of probable judges of the Delhi High Court, is the name of one of the biggest IP lawyers in the country – senior counsel Pratibha Singh. According to sources, the senior advocate has provided her consent to being appointed a High Court judge. Singh is one of two hundred and twenty-three individuals whose names have been suggested for becoming a High Court judge.

A graduate of University Law College, Bangalore, Singh completed her Masters in law from Cambridge University. She has been involved in a number of high-profile IP litigations, of which one of the more significant one was the Novartis case. She is also a recipient of the Best Woman IP Litigator in Asia by Euromoney Asia and was designated Senior Advocate by the Delhi High Court in 2013.

Her’s is not the only names that are doing the rounds with respect to elevations in the Delhi High Court. Currently, the High Court has roughly twenty-four vacancies, and it is likely that six or seven new judges will be appointed soon.
