CLAT 2024 results to be out on December 10; revised provisional answer key released after errors found

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU Consortium) has announced that the results of the recently conducted Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for 2024 will be released on December 10..The announcement was made shortly after the Consortium uploaded a revised provisional answer key on Monday evening.The first version of the provisional answer key uploaded earlier in the day was taken down after certain errors were pointed out. .Speaking to Bar & Bench, the Director of Law Prep Tutorial, Anupama Joshi said that the answer keys given in the earlier provisional answer key appeared to be mismatched. For instance, the answers for Set A papers were inadvertently provided in the Set B section of the earlier answer key. Owing to this, there were concerns about how students would raise objections to the provisional answer key, since a fee of ₹1,000 has to be paid per objection raised. .With the release of a revised provisional answer key, the time to register objections has also been extended by about 10 hours. Earlier, students were required to raise their objections by December 5 at 9 AM. As per the latest announcement, the objections can be sent in by 7 PM on December 5.The final answer key will be released on December 9, a day before the results are slated to be announced on December 10..In response to queries sent by Bar & Bench on Monday, the Consortium has disclosed that the earlier mismatch of answer keys crept in due to a typographical error."For the first time, we have come out with answer keys for each of the 4 sets of question booklets unlike the previous years wherein we used to release only the Master Key making it challenging for students to find correct answers for the jumbled questions in different sets of question booklets. In this creation of four sets of answer keys due to some typographical error, for some sections the answer keys were mismatched," the emailed response stated. On identifying the discrepancy, the Convenor's office promptly took corrective measures and extended the deadline for submitting objections, the response noted. "We understand the importance of providing accurate information to the candidates and took swift action to rectify the situation. We take great pride in maintaining the integrity of the examination process, and any inadvertent errors are attended with utmost seriousness," the response further said. The Consortium added that it regrets the initial discrepancy and emphasised that it was committed to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and fairness in the CLAT process..CLAT 2024 was held on Sunday, December 3.
