A group of prospective law students has written an open letter expressing their dismay at the way this year’s CLAT has been conducted. The students claim that as many as 22 questions from this year’s paper are erroneous..They have also protested against the organizers’ change in stance regarding mailing candidates the question paper along with their responses. Other grievances include the difficulty of some questions and the fact that some questions in the legal GK section were out of syllabus..The letter also alleges that the authorities callously termed the students’ concerns as acts of “desperate unsuccessful candidates”. It concludes with the students demanding a retest so that they can be assessed in a fair manner..More than 39,000 students wrote CLAT on May 11 for admission into the undergraduate course at 16 National Law Universities. The students also plan to send the letter to Vice-Chancellors of the 16 NLUs, who form the CLAT Core Committee.
