Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned the construction of a City Civil Court Complex in Amaravati, according to Asian News International (ANI)..State Urban Development Minister P Narayana Rao told ANI that a 1.8 lakh square feet structure would be constructed, adding that the CM had directed that the work be completed within eight months’ time..It has also been reported that the new High Court for Andhra Pradesh, once constituted, will function out of the premises ultimately intended for housing Civil Courts. The High Court will function out of the said premises, until a permanent structure – which is mentioned in the master plan for the Capital – is executed by United Kingdom partnership firm Norman Fosters..Andhra Pradesh Advocates Association (APAA) President Challa Dhanamjaya told Bar & Bench that he was happy with the development, as a major objection raised by the Association against shifting the High Court to a temporary location had been addressed..The Association had made a number of representations to both Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh High Court Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and the AP Chief Minister. Though against moving the High Court to a temporary location, the Association demanded that if the same was inevitable, the temporary structure should be within 2-3 kilometres from where the permanent structure will come up..The Association has also demanded for adequate security arrangements and parking space which can accommodate 1000 four-wheelers and 2000 two-wheelers..The lawyers have also also asked the government to make almost 20,000 square feet available to house the Association and its affiliates, a library, and a lunch room..It has also been pointed out that the location must be proximate to residential accommodation and must be well connected by road.
