Centre withdraws three criminal law bills, to re-introduce with changes suggested by Parliamentary Committee
The new criminal law bills were introduced in the Parliament's Monsoon session in August to replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC) of 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) of 1973 and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872.
The Central government on Monday withdrew the three criminal law bills -Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023.
