Request Centre to specify app to be used by advocates for virtual meetings; Till then those visiting jails may use WhatsApp: BCI

Pursuant to a representation raising concerns with respect to the protection of attorney-client privilege during virtual meetings, the Bar Council of India has requested the Central Government to specify the use of application(s) which can be used by advocates for this purpose.

Till the time such app is not specified, Advocates visiting their clients in jail etc may communicate with their clients by way of WhatsApp call, Bar Council has said.
