The Central Government on Thursday notified the appointment of two lawyers, advocates Rajiv Roy and Harish Kumar, as judges of the Patna High Court..The Department of Law and Justice of the Central Government issued a notification to that effect.."In exercise of the power conferred by clause (l) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Rajiv Roy, and (ii) Harish Kumar, to be Judges of the Patna High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices," the notifications said..Advocate Harish Kumar's elevation was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on February 8, 2022. .Currently, the Patna High Court is functioning with just 25 judges against a sanctioned strength of 53 judges.
