The Central government on Tuesday cleared the appointment of five judicial officers as additional judges of the Kerala High Court..The Union Law Minister of State (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal tweeted the development.The judicial officers who have been appointed are:KV Jayakumar;Muralee Krishna S;Jobin Sebastian;PV Balakrishnan;PP Krishna Kumar. .The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their appointment by way of a resolution dated October 15. While four of the five were recommended for the first time on October 15, the name of PP Krishna Kumar had been first recommended in October last year.Since the same was yet to be cleared by the Central government, the Collegium reiterated his name via the October 15 resolution passed this year..As on October 15, the Kerala High Court is functioning with 40 judges as against a sanctioned strength of 47.
