The Central government has notified the appointment of Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava as the acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court with effect from August 2, 2022..Justice Shrivastava will take over after the retirement of the present Chief Justice Shinde Sambhaji Shiwaji..A notification to this effect was published on the website of Department of Law and Justice. "In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, senior-most Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, with effect from 02.08.2022 consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Shinde Sambhaji Shiwaji, Chief Justice, Rajasthan High Court," it said..Justice Shrivastava was born, and did his schooling in Bilaspur. After completing his graduation from CMD College, Bilaspur, he obtained an LL.B. with gold medal from KR Law College, Bilaspur. The judge enrolled with Madhya Pradesh Bar Council in 1987 and practiced at the District Court in Raigarh and the High Court. He was the standing counsel for the Department of Income Tax, Muncipal Council, Raipur and Chhattisgarh State Electricity Organisations and Corporations, and was also associated with Rotary International. Justice Shrivastava was designated as a Senior Advocate in 2005 and was elevated as a Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court in 2009.
