A Special CBI Court today extended the interim bail granted to Robert Vadra in a money laundering case till March 2..The order was passed by Special CBI Judge Arvind Kumar while hearing Vadra’s anticipatory bail plea in relation to charges of money laundering in purchasing a property in London worth 1.9 million pound..Robert Vadra was himself present before the Court today, along with a battery of lawyers..Special Public Prosecutor DP Singh said that he could oppose Vadra’s bail plea on “non-cooperation alone”. He, however, said that if Vadra was ready to cooperate and answer questions, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) would not object to the extension of his interim bail plea..After Senior Advocate KTS Tulsi submitted to the Court that Vadra would extend his full cooperation to the investigation, the Court posted the bail plea for hearing on March 2, and extended the interim bail..The ED also informed the Court that it would need Vadra to appear before it 4-5 times more for interrogation..Singh also objected to Vadra taking to social media to “play the victim card” and “cry political vendetta”..Vadra was granted interim bail by the CBI Court on February 2, on the condition that he would co-operate with the investigation..Vadra’s alleged aide, businessman Manoj Arora, is also on interim bail in the same case..In his anticipatory bail plea, Vadra has claimed that the case had a colour of a political witch hunt..Till now, Vadra has appeared before the ED thrice for interrogation in connection with case..The case will next be heard on March 2.
