Calcutta High Court asks State to respond to PIL to make West Bengal Police Complaints Authority functional

The bench led by Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam was informed there is an SPCA in Kolkata with chairperson of State Human Rights Commission acting as it's head, State DGP and city commissioner as members.

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered the West Bengal Home Ministry to respond to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition highlighting the failure of the State to comply with the orders of the Supreme Court to constitute State Police Complaints Authority (SPCA).
