On principle, I wrote to the Collegium withdrawing my consent.".After a meeting held on February 4, 2021, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Sondhi as well as Rajendra Badamikar and Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin as Karnataka High Court judges. He has been awarded a PhD in Political Science by the Mysore University. He earlier did his Masters in Political Science from Bangalore University.
