A single-judge of the Bombay High Court has referred to a larger bench the question of whether applications for compensation under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (DV Act) can be quashed by the High Court during the initial stages of the matter before a magistrate [Lincen Louis Thommana & Ors v. Leena Lincen Thommana & Anr].
