Bombay High Court says only residential electricity tariff can be levied even if lawyer uses residential space as office
The Court refused to accept the argument by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company that commercial rate should be imposed since the premises were being used by the lawyer for commercial purposes.
The Bombay High Court recently upheld an order of a consumer forum which had ruled that only a residential electricity tariff can be levied with respect to a lawyer's residence even if he is using the residential space as his office.
