The Bar Council of India (BCI) has moved the Supreme Court seeking constitution of Bar Council for the State of Telangana..In an application filed in the Ajayinder Sangwan case, the BCI has asked the Court to direct the Bifurcation Committee, which has been set up by the BCI, to proceed with the process of creating two units out of the Andhra Pradesh Bar Council, one each for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh within four weeks.The BCI also asked for a postponement of Bar elections in these two States to accommodate the above bifurcation.
