Ayodhya: Main litigant Iqbal Ansari, accepts invitation to Bhumi Puja for Ram temple, says will attend

One of the main litigants in the Ayodhya land dispute case, Iqbal Ansari, is one of the first persons who has received an invitation to the Bhumi Pujan scheduled to be held on August 5 to for laying down of foundation stone for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya..Ansari who was one of the main litigants before the Supreme Court received the invitation for the Bhumi puja on Monday morning around 10AM. Ansari says that since he has been invited for the ceremony, he has accepted the invitation for the event which also likely to be attended by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also..The Bhumi Puja is scheduled for August 5 after the Supreme Court in November last year delivered its verdict in the long drawn land dispute for the land where Babri Masjid once stood..A five-Judge Constitution Bench led by then CJI, Justice Ranjan Gogoi paved the way for the construction of the Ram temple at the dispute land and directed the government to allot a land admeasuring five acres to the Muslim side for the construction of a Mosque recognizing the wrong that was committed in razing down of Babri Masjid back in 1992..Ayodhya Judgment: Why the Supreme Court gave title of the disputed site to Hindus?.Ansari, who had expressed satisfaction at this verdict of the Court back then, has now said that he has no qualms with the Supreme Court's verdict and no reason to decline the invitation he has received for the Bhumi puja. .Speaking to Bar & Bench, Ansari said,."The Supreme Court delieverd its decision on November 9 (2019) and the entire world knows of this verdict. We don't have any 'Hindu-Muslim' qualms about it. Once the Court passed its judgment, we accepted it... Now, since I got the invitation to the Puja, I will attend the ceremony.”Iqbal Ansari.Ansari maintained that the people in Ayodhya live harmoniously and wanted an end to the dispute that lasted so many years and as such he had declined to seek a review of the Supreme Court’s 2019 judgment.
