An attempt was made to take Hadiya alias Akhila to Yemen, Hadiya’s father Asokan has submitted in an affidavit filed in Supreme Court.The affidavit, which has been filed in response to Hadiya’s affidavit, offers a new narrative with regard to Hadiya’s conversion to Islam..As per the new affidavit, Hadiya embraced Islam after coming into contact with one Shanib who introduced Hadiya to Shanib’s elder sister Sherin Shahana..Sherin was already married to one Fasil Musthafa who offered Hadiya to become his second wife whereupon he would take her to Yemen..“In 2015, my daughter came into contact with one Shanib belonging to Malappuram District through internet chatting. Shanib introduced my daughter to his elder sister Sherin Shahana who was already married to Fasil Musthafa. Fasil Musthafa offered two things to my daughter, the post of his second wife and a trip to Yemen.”.Asokan has stated that the couple, i.e. Fasil and Sherin took Hadiya to Ernakulam and got an affidavit sworn before one Davy AC, Advocate and Notary to the purported effect that she had become a Muslim. She was renamed ‘Aasiya’. It is Asokan’s contention that Hadiya disclosed this episode to her close friend Ambily who strongly objected to Hadiya’s decision and consequently, Hadiya backtracked..“My daughter told everything about the said episode to her close friend and schoolmate Smt. Ambily, who strongly objected her being the second wife of Fasil Mustafa and a Muslim. As my daughter withdrew from the marriage proposal in the back drop of the propaganda that girls are being converted to Islam and getting trafficked to foreign countries, the said couple dropped their idea of taking my daughter to Yemen.”.Asokan has further stated that the police had elicited these facts and the same are available in the case diary..“….the Kerala State Police did not properly investigate this angle of the case although they have clearly mentioned in their Police Report that Sherin Shahana and Fasil Musthafa had a plan to send her off to Yemen. The NIA may be called upon to disclose their investigation reports on this angle of the case.”.Subsequently, Hadiya, according to Asokan, “fell into the trap of Faseena and Jaseena” the two students who were Hadiya’s hostel mates..“My daughter, who was already vulnerable fell into the trap of Faseena and Jaseena, sisters and workers of Campus Front (Student wing of Popular Front of India) and brought her to their father Sri. Aboobacker who in turn gave my daughter to 7th and 8th Respondents.”.Further, regarding the telephonic conversation Asokan had with Hadiya about Hadiya’s plans to go to Syria for sheep rearing, Asokan has submitted that the first telephonic conversation he had with her in which Hadiya divulged such a plan, was not recorded by him..Subsequently, Asokan had another conversation with Hadiya on July 12 which he recorded. In the said conversation, he tried to deliberately refer to the conversation he had with her previously but she was on guard..“in July 2016 while I was talking with my daughter, she told me that she was planning to go to Syria for sheep rearing. I was shocked to hear it as during that period, youths mainly from Hindu and Christian communities were being trafficked to Syria for joining Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS for short). I discussed about this with my close relatives. They told me that there should be evidence for approaching the Court again especially she was with the 8th Respondent as per the judgment of the Hon’ble High Court. So, having made preparation for recording our conversation I again called her. During the course of our conversation I asked her about her plan of going to Syria, she clearly told me that she had a plan to go there but she dropped it. I recorded her statements. There was no difficulty for me to understand that she was talking in this manner as advised by the 8th Respondent when my daughter told the 8th Respondent about her conversation with me about her plan to go to Syria.”.Asokan has also responded to the allegations of Hadiya that her mother tried to poison her..“My wife cannot even dream of causing the slightest harm to our only daughter, without her, we have nothing in the world. These absurd, far-fetched and fanciful allegations show how deeply she has been brainwashed and indoctrinated. The first and last lesson radical groups give to the persons brought under their fold is to hate their parents unless they follow their path. My wife cannot even dream of causing any harm to my daughter.
