Appoint women lawyers to represent survivors in POCSO cases: Allahabad High Court

Justice Ajay Bhanot observed that although the Legal Services Committee had empaneled counsel to represent victims, but very few lady counsel appeared for the victims.

The Allahabad High Court recently asked the Court's Legal Services Committee to appoint lady counsel to represent the survivors in Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act cases, especially when the such survivors are minor girls [Ashish Yadav v State of UP].
