The ultimate objective is to achieve paperless courts and contribute to the Digital India initiative..The initiative was successfully kickstarted at the District Court in Prayagaraj, which has paved the way for its implementation for all courts in Uttar Pradesh.As per a press note issued by the High Court, about 64,355 case files of fresh cases, containing more than 83.81 lakh pages, have been digitised so far at the District Court in Prayagraj, on a pilot project basis. .Scanning and digitisation of the legacy case records have now been started for 11 more District Courts, namely in Agra, Gautambuddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Ramabai Nagar (Kanpur Dehat), Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Siddharthnagar, Meerut, Raebareli and Bareilly.."The scanned/digitized case files of fresh cases, e-filed cases and some of the listed matters are now available online in the DMS Software (paperless court) of the Court," the press note added. .[Read Press Note]
