The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has approached the Supreme Court against a decision of the Delhi High Court scrapping elections to the apex football body in the country..The matter was mentioned today by Advocate-on-record Amit Anand Tiwari before a Bench of Justices Jasti Chelameswar and Abdul Nazeer.Tiwari submitted that the AIFF is seeking to bid for hosting FIFA Under-20 World Cup in India. However, one of the conditions for recognition by FIFA is to have an elected administrative body for football and the decision of Delhi High Court would impede AIFF from bidding for the same since FIFA does not recognise unelected bodies. The Court agreed to list the matter on Friday this week.A team from Karanjawala & Co. led by Partner Debmalya Banerjee is representing AIFF in the matter.Image taken from here.
