Advocates Harpal Singh Cheema and Harjot Singh Bains have joined Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's cabinet in Punjab. .Both Cheema and Bains are law graduates from Punjab University. At 31, Harjot Singh bains is the youngest Ministers in the Mann Cabinet and one of the youngest Cabinet ministers across country. .Cheema, now a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dirba, was elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the first time in 2017. He served as a member on the Committee on Government Assurances of Punjab Vidhan Sabha from 2017 to 2018. He also served as member of the Committee on Welfare of SCs, STs & BCs from 2017- 2019. The newly appointed MLA took to Twitter on Saturday to thank Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. "Thanks to Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann for bestowing this trust on me and giving this big responsibility. I will put in best of my efforts to serve the people of Punjab.".Cheema was also the lawyer for AAP MLA from Delhi Naresh Yadav on Tuesday in a case of desecration of the Quran..Bains was formerly the Chief Spokesperson of the Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party. He contested from the constituency of Sahnewal in the 2017 Punjab Assembly election. He led the “Nawa Punjab” campaign in the run up to the elections across the State and mobilised lakhs of youths to join the movement to change Punjab and rescue it from the political establishment.
