Additional Solicitor General Harin Raval resigns

The Additional Solicitor General of India (ASG) Harin P. Raval (pictured left) has resigned, less than a day after expressing his unhappiness at the manner in which Attorney General (AG) Goolam E. Vahanvati had handled the coal allocation scam. In his letter, Raval had accused the AG of influencing the CBI’s investigation in the coal scam and had claimed that he had been made a “scapegoat”.Raval had first been appointed as ASG way back in July, 2009.
