A Single Bench of Justice Ashutosh Kumar while hearing the matter, also directed the Delhi Police to file a status report over the issue..In a short hearing, Senior Counsel HS Phoolka appeared for Singh and argued that the FIR was ‘politically motivated’ and all the other co-accused had been granted bail by the trial court..On the other hand, Special Prosecutor Anupam S Sharma pushed for custodial interrogation as Singh had ‘humiliated and assaulted’ a junior engineer while also preventing him from performing his duties during demolition of an illegal construction..Singh had approached the High Court pursuant to the rejection of his bail plea by the Sessions Court.
