A special CBI court on Wednesday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan in a case of alleged irregularities in recruitment to the Delhi Waqf Board..Special Judge Vikas Dhull had on September 17 remanded Khan to judicial custody, after which his lawyers mentioned his bail application and requested for a hearing. The Court granted bail to Khan today subject to furnishing personal bail bond of ₹1 lakh with along one surety.The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) is investigating the alleged irregularities in the recruitment to the Delhi Waqf Board headed by Khan. As part of its probe, the ACB had carried out searches at the MLA's house and other premises and reportedly seized ₹24 lakh besides two unlicensed weapons.Khan was arrested on September 16. .Public Prosecutors Atul Kumar Srivastava and Manish Rawat appearing for the ACB, told the court that 22 members of the board were appointed from his constituency.Further, they stated that despite having an income of around ₹4 lakh, Khan had received cash to the tune of ₹4 crores which warranted a thorough investigation.Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra, for Amanatullah Khan, argued that there was no material to connect the cash to Khan.
