Shreya Singhal and Raman Jit Singh Chima have made it to the list under the ‘Law, Policy and Politics’ category..Singhal, most famous for successfully challenging the vires of Section 66 of the IT Act in the Supreme Court, is a third-year law student at the Faculty of Law, Delhi University..Speaking to Bar & Bench, she said,.“It’s very humbling. You usually have much older people being recognized for their work. .This is the third year Forbes has come out with their 30 under 30 list, and I think the whole concept is really encouraging for the younger generation to strive to do better.”.Chima, a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore, is currently Policy Director at Access Now, an organisation that protects digital rights. Enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi, he has clerked with retired Supreme Court judge, Justice VS Sirpurkar. He also assisted the legal team in Shreya Singhal’s challenge..Commenting on his inclusion in the list, Chima said,.“I’m very happy to have been listed there, looking at the others listed in various fields, as well as Shreya, who has been listed in my field for her work on the Section 66A matter. .I think it’s a recognition of the role lawyers can play in not just fighting battles in court, but also in helping shape better laws..It’s also a recognition that technology policy and internet public policy is really important for a connected India, and globally as well. As an Indian, I am the head of a global public policy team working on internet rights across the world.
